To use our services you will need the following:

POP3 email client

If you wish to use the POP3 account you get with your membership, you will need a POP3 email client such as Eudora or Pegasus, etc.

However, if you don't have an email client, you can use CW-Mail, our web-based email utility.

A Connection to the Internet

Crosswinds is a free webspace and email provider, but not an Internet Service Provider.

A web browser

You will need a web browser. Although our site has no specific browser requirements like some other webspace providers do, it will look better in the newer versions.

If you wish to use the Homepage Utilities (on-line browser uploads) you will need a web browser that supports file uploads. We recommend Netscape 3.0 or higher, Opera, or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher.

Crosswinds does not currently offer CGI, SSI, FrontPage or WebTV support. CGI, SSI and FrontPage have too many security issues. You are welcome to use an outside source for CGI applications, or use the CGI we offer. Frontpage users simply need to rename their file extensions to "html".
